Thomas Nguyen '28

Thomas Nguyen is a Biological Sciences student at Cornell University with a strong technical foundation in molecular biology, biochemistry, and clinical diagnostics. He currently serves as an Undergraduate Researcher in the McFadden Laboratory, where he manages longitudinal nutritional studies, analyzes complex lipid metabolism data, and ensures strict compliance with study SOPs. Beyond his research, Thomas has extensive clinical experience as a Veterinary Technician, performing over 100 in-house laboratory tests weekly and managing high-volume patient care and surgical suites.

A proven leader, Thomas has served as the Fundraising Chair for Pi Delta Psi, where he directed digital marketing campaigns that increased event attendance by 20% and oversaw end-to-end logistics for large-scale campus events. His technical repertoire includes proficiency in CRISPR-Cas9 genome editing, DNA/RNA purification, RT-PCR, and protein purification techniques such as ion exchange and affinity chromatography. Thomas is also an Eagle Scout and a Certified Veterinary Assistant who combines scientific rigor with a dedicated interest in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.
