Reese Visaya '27

Reese is a Junior concentrating in General Biology and plans to attend Medical School after graduating. She is a member of the Fromme Lab, where she studies protein structures in the Golgi complex. On campus, she is the education chair of Cornell Hunger Relief Program, a writer for Cornell Heatlhcare Review, a Trail Running instructor for Cornell Outdoor Education, and a member of Phi Delta Epsilon premedical fraternity. Off campus, Reese volunteers at the Cancer Resource Center and Salvation Army. In previous summers, she worked at a preschool for neurodivergent children, volunteered at the UW medical center, and worked in Ghana participating in medical outreaches in rural and underserved communities. In her free time, Reese enjoys trying new workout classes, cooking, and exploring nature in Ithaca. 

Her words of advice for incoming students are

“Pursue the things that you have geniune interest in! Don't put energy into things just because you think you are supposed to, it will exhaust you. Don''t be nervous if you don't know exactly what you're interested in yet. College is a great time to learn about yourself, get involved on campus in many different ways!”
