Sophie is concentrating in General Biology and is on the path to attending medical school and becoming a pathologist. She plans to take a gap year to explore clinical experience and research opportunities surrounding reproductive health. On campus, she is a member of the Cohen Lab, where she is working on a project that investigates mouse models and non-hormonal female contraceptives. She is also a Communications Coordinator for CALS Ambassadors, where she helps prospective students with any questions about the CALS experience. She is a member of the First Generation Student Union, HEART, Cornell Healthcare Review, and Rho Psi Eta. You can also catch her working shifts at the Hans Bethe House Office! Her favorite class at Cornell has been PE 1600: Introduction to Aerials. In her free time, she likes to play beach volleyball, discover new shows, spend time with friends and family, crochet and knit, listen to music, and buggy board! Some fun facts about her are that she is trilingual, has played clarinet for 10 years, and has a rescue calico cat!

Her words of advice for new students

“Make the best of your four years at Cornell! Time will go by flying so be sure to enjoy the little things and go out of your comfort zone. Talk to the person sitting next to you in lecture, reach out to professors, join clubs that peak your interest, explore where feels like home to you at Cornell! Never compare yourself to others as well. Everyone has their own journey and you will get where you need to be with your motivation anf hard work. You are here for a reason, never doubt yourself. “
