Mina Jannatul '27

Mina is majoring in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Molecular and Cellular Biology, along with a potential second major in Global and Public Health Sciences and is pursuing a pre-medical track. She conducts research in the Wolfner Lab, where she studies the effects of seminal fluid proteins on mating plug ejection in Drosophila melanogaster (the fruit fly). Beyond research, she is a CALS Ambassador and an active member of Cornell Rise Up (Realizing Integration, Support, and Education for Underserved Populations), and The Healthcare Review at Cornell. She also serves as a teaching assistant for ILRST/STSCI 2100. Her favorite classes at Cornell so far have been BioMG 1350 and STSCI 2150. Outside of academics, Mina enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going to the beach, and reading.

Her words of advice for new students

“This may be easier said than done, but don't get caught up in the comparison culture. Everyone's path will look different and that is completely okay! There are numerous ways to end up at the same destination. What is "right" for you may not be what is "right" for others! ”
