Aayushi Ahlawat '27

Aayushi is a transfer student in the Biological Sciences major in CALS, pursuing a concentration in Computational Biology. She loves combining her interests in data analysis and computational applications in healthcare, and aims to enter the healthcare industry after graduation, focusing on the pharmaceutical sector. At Cornell, some of her favorite courses have been PUBPOL 3110, BIOMG 3350, and CS 2110. She has actively volunteered at UCI Health for two years, and in recent summers has done research in a microbiology lab at UCSF and interned at a pharmaceutical company. On campus, she loves staying active through Boxing Club, playing strategy games with friends in Mafia Club, conducting computational biology research with the Pennell Lab, and being a CALS Ambassador. For fun, she loves driving her motorcycle in California, watching the Great British Baking Show with her family, and following the Formula 1 season.

Her words of encouragement for new students

“I think it's important to take college (and Cornell especially) at your own pace and pursue different opportunities on your timeline and not someone else's. Cornell has incredible opportunities and people to learn from, but it's easy to want to do everything at once or compare yourself. Try to take it one step at a time and find the opportunities that are best for you, it will all work out!"
