Jonathan Lin '27

Jonathan is a sophomore concentrating in Molecular and Cell Biology who plans to attend medical school after graduation. As a member of the Lee Lab, he leads research projects investigating oocyte maturation and reproduction in feminized C. elegans mutants. This past summer, he conducted research at the University of Michigan investigating intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma and volunteered at a local hospital. On campus, Jonathan is involved in RISE-UP, MUNCH, and CURB, and also serves as a volunteer firefighter and EMT with the Cayuga Heights Fire Department. In his free time, Jonathan likes cooking for his friends, playing table tennis, and rooting for the Knicks!

His words of encouragement for incoming students

“If I could tell my freshman self one thing, it would be this: try as many things as are interesting to you, and find one or two that you truly love and commit to them fully. Cornell has so many incredible opportunities, and the time goes faster than you expect. More than anything, do things because you genuinely care about them and because they push you to grow and improve as a person, not just because they look good on your resume. Challenge yourself, and surround yourself with people who challenge and support you. ”
