Kevin Zhu '27

Kevin, a junior Biological Sciences major concentrating in Neurobiology and Behavior, plans to attend medical school after a gap year. During the summer, he interned with the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine (WVSOM) Green Coat Program, gaining hands-on experience in doctor-led patient care and laboratory work while deepening his understanding of the challenges in rural healthcare. At Cornell, he is actively involved in Science Olympiad, College Mentors for Kids, United Way, and REACH. Previously, he conducted research in the Attention, Memory, and Perception (AMP) Lab, where he explored the role of norepinephrine in visual processing by analyzing pupil dilation responses to oddball stimuli. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis, swimming, volunteering, and playing Valorant.

His advice for incoming students

“Don't get overly depressed over a bad grade, everyone has those days, but it's how you deal with the slips in the long run that defines who you are as a student.”
