Jeffrey Jiang '27

Jeffrey Jiang is a senior concentrating in Molecular and Cell Biology and minoring in Nutrition and Health. He serves as a research assistant in the Mao Lab, where he investigates novel effector proteins secreted by the intracellular pathogen Legionella pneumophila using functional and biochemical assays. Last summer, Jeffrey conducted research at Weill Cornell Medicine studying the tumor suppressor gene PTEN as part of the Tri-Institutional Gateways Program. Outside of research, Jeffrey is also involved in the service fraternity Alpha Phi Omega, Project Hope, P3, and is a McNair scholar. After graduation, Jeffrey plans to pursue a MD-PhD dual degree, where he seeks to combine his interests in scientific discovery with clinical application. 

 

Jeffrey's words of advice to incoming students:

"Make friends in your classes. One day, they’ll save you with notes when you can't wake up for that 11 am class."
