Alexis Famuyide '27

Alexis is concentrating in Neurobiology & Behavior and aspires to attend medical school after graduation. She conducts research in the Affect and Cognition Laboratory, which investigates the potential shared pathology and comorbidity of Parkinson’s disease and cardiovascular disease. With service being an integral component of her life, Alexis serves as the Community Education Executive Board Officer of Cornell University Emergency Medical Service and a Health & Safety Institute Basic Life Support instructor, where she has the privilege of teaching CPR/AED and Basic First Aid classes to her Cornell community members. Additionally, she is a Biology Scholars Program Study Group Leader for CHEM 2070/2080 and is eagerly involved in Cru Cornell, P3, Weill Ithaca Network, and Phi Delta Epsilon Medical Fraternity. For fun, Alexis enjoys fashion styling, making art/pottery, singing, and exploring different cuisines. Through her involvements, Alexis strives to demonstrate a passion for service, peer mentorship, and community engagement.

Alexis's words of advice to incoming students:

“There is an indispensable reward associated with learning from those who were recently where you currently are. Embrace the beauty of peer mentorship and take advantage of how you can learn from others, rather than trying to experience Cornell alone. Always remember: You are meant to be here and you will find your community!”
