Isabel Louie

Isabel concentrates in computational biology. After graduating, she aims to attend law school and pursue patent/intellectual property law. Last summer, she participated in the NIH NIDDK STEP-UP program, where she conducted research at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. Her project investigated the impact of diaphanous 1-mitofusin 2 interactions on endothelial cell senescence under hyperglycemic conditions. Outside of class, she teaches piano, is on the Cornell Piano Society executive board, is a member of a flute ensemble on campus, and is an editor for the Cornell Undergraduate Research Magazine. In her spare time, she enjoys listening to new music and watching tennis!

Her advice for new students:

"Make time for your hobbies! It's easy to get swept up into the busyness of all your classes, so having a dedicated time to step away from academics is really important for maintaining balance and avoiding burnout."
