Elliot Aguirre '26
Elliot is concentrating in General Biology and plans to attend medical school after graduation. During the school year, Elliot volunteers at Beechtree Nursing Home and Loaves and Fishes soup kitchen. He is also currently a member of the BioM2, where he is utilizing terrestrial LIDAR scanning to study the biodiversity in tree above ground biomass. In his free time, Elliot enjoys exercising, working on his 250 acre farm at home, and playing soccer, as he is the assistant coach and captain of the club soccer team at Cornell! In past summers, Elliot has worked as a phone operator and clinical chart reviewer at a family practice, a volunteer in the emergency department, a home health aide, and has shadowed physicians through the University of Rochester Medical Center.
Elliot’s words of advice for incoming students:
“Cornell has a very rigorous academic setting that will challenge you in many ways. The best way to succeed in your classes and enjoy your undergraduate experience through your hobbies and extracurriculars is to plan your weeks accordingly. I strongly encourage students to make a schedule on a weekly basis to map out the work and commitments you need to get done. This is the best way to keep yourself managed and succeed when classes pickup and you're limited with your time.”
