Alec Purcell '24

Alec is concentrating in Genetics, Genomics and Development with plans to attend medical school.  On campus and in Ithaca, he is on the E-board of the Ithaca Health Initiative, a member of State of the Pod and the Cornell Healthcare Review, a Genetics TA, and a Sciencenter volunteer.  Alec is currently involved in research in the lab of Chun Han studying Drosophila neurology and genetics.  In his free time, he enjoys hanging out with friends and playing basketball.  His favorite course at Cornell so far has been SPAN 2095, for the professor (Cecilia Lawless) and classmates.  In previous summers, Alec has worked as a summer camp counselor, a soccer/basketball referee, a tutor and volunteered at a local hospitals.
