Founded in 2009, the Dressage Club at Cornell provides an opportunity for equestrians at Cornell to learn, practice, and compete in the sport of dressage.

Throughout the semester, members are able to participate in lessons at If Only Equestrian Center and Region C Intercollegiate Dressage Association (IDA) shows where there are opportunities to perform both dressage tests and dressage seat equitation. The IDA consists of four levels: First, Upper Training, Lower Training, and Introductory. Members can advance through these different levels via a point system based on show performance.

Members attend monthly meetings and volunteer at recruitment events for the team including Club Fest and tryouts. We also hold several social activities throughout the semester including apple picking, game nights and dinners.

Members pay a fifty dollar annual fee and a thirty five dollar IDA showing fee if they are planning on attending shows with the team. The team is subsidized by SAFC for lessons and shows so fees for these activities vary but are much lower than regular rates.

Who can join?

There is no previous dressage experience required and anyone with previous riding experience in any discipline is welcome to join. The only requirement is that members are able to walk, trot, and canter unassisted. We hold tryouts at the beginning of each semester for anyone interested in joining.

This organization is a registered student organization of Cornell University.
