What is the most memorable or impactful experience of your career so far?

I designed and coordinated an innovative technical skill and material capacity development program for over 140,000 dairy farmers and 626 artificial insemination service providers through establishing public-private partnerships among diverse development partners in Ethiopia.

What impact do you want to make in your country?

I would like to formulate and promote new PPP models to establish a sustainable dairy/AI and other integrated livestock development service delivery system that harmonizes innovation, entrepreneurship, market and environmental solutions to accelerate smallholder farmers‚ economic and social empowerment.

How do you think your Humphrey Fellowship and your time at Cornell will help boost your career?

Joining the Humphrey Fellowship Program will strengthen my skills in strategic planning, negotiation, and leaderships and will widen my networks, which will enable me to establish effective partnerships among the public and private sectors and international partners. Additionally, applying acquired negotiation skills will enable me mobilize investments from these actors. The hands-on experience will put me in a better position to formulate and promote new PPP models to establish a sustainable dairy/AI and other integrated livestock development service delivery systems. The program will also help me to expand my advocacy role to secure public support for PPPs to influence policy.
