Sujoy Chakma is a dedicated development practitioner with a focus on agriculture, environment, and rural development. He serves as a Field Program Assistant for the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Bangladesh, where he implements and supports agricultural and rural development projects in the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHTs). This region, known for its extensive hills, forests, lakes, and ethnic diversity, presents unique challenges that Sujoy adeptly addresses with his field expertise.

In his role, Sujoy manages a range of initiatives, including farmer capacity development, Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), vegetable and fruit production, family poultry production, and nutrition-sensitive agriculture. He also oversees the distribution of agricultural inputs such as seeds, saplings, and equipment to aid beneficiaries in recovering from shocks like flash floods, storms, and COVID-19.

Sujoy has been instrumental in creating Collaborative Agribusiness Marketing Groups (CAMGs), which enhance farmers' access to markets. His academic background includes a BA in Sociology from the University of Burdwan and an MA in Rural Development from Visva-Bharati University. Sujoy is passionate about developing innovative solutions for sustainable agriculture practices to support rural farmers.
