Ruth Rebeca is an economic diplomacy and trade professional with nearly six years of experience advancing Indonesia’s economic engagement in Canada, particularly across Western Canada. During her tenure at the Consulate General of Indonesia in Vancouver, she promoted Indonesian trade and investment, supported market access for Indonesian micro and small enterprises (MSEs), and facilitated connections among Indonesian businesses, Canadian buyers and investors, and public-sector stakeholders.
With a background in Business Management and Tourism (MICE), Rebeca brings expertise in trade promotion, investment facilitation, strategic partnerships, project management, and multi-stakeholder engagement. She has led business forums, trade promotion initiatives, investment programs, and diplomatic engagements that strengthened bilateral economic relations and expanded opportunities for Indonesian businesses in international markets.
Her academic and professional interests center on inclusive and sustainable development, particularly advancing the economic empowerment of Indonesian women and gender-diverse communities through entrepreneurship, social enterprise, and greater participation in domestic and international markets.
Her work is driven by an interest in bridging economic diplomacy and development to create more inclusive pathways for underserved communities to participate in and benefit from global economic opportunities, particularly in Indonesia and Southeast Asia.
