What is the most memorable or impactful experience of your career so far?
My organization SUNSAY Energy has become one of the leading providers of solar solutions for communities, residential households, and corporate customers in Ukraine. During the last three years I have covered more than 85,000 sq ft by solar panels and installed more than 100 of Solar PV power plants which produced about 2 Gigawatts hours of electricity.
What are the big challenges you want to tackle in your country?
I would like to contribute to the implementation of the National Energy Strategy of Ukraine to achieve 30% of energy generation from renewable sources by 2035. My goal is to promote sustainable energy solutions, increase the generation of clean energy and develop electricity storage technology in Ukraine in order to strengthen the country’s energy resilience.
How do you think your Humphrey Fellowship and your time at Cornell will help boost your career?
During my fellowship year, I would like to learn more about climate change trends, the US Energy policy and renewable energy programs incentivized by the government. I would like to explore best practices of utilizing energy storage and microgrids and expand my professional network through cooperation with US and international sustainable energy experts, enterprises, and environment advocacy units.
What does public service mean to you?
My public service is realized through the mitigation of climate change consequences and improving the quality of living of the global population for generations to come.
Tell us a fun fact about you.
