Oluwagbenga “Benga” Sadik is a development professional whose interest sits at the intersection of food systems, nutrition, and policy. As a Master of Professional Studies (MPS) student in Global Development at Cornell University, he is deepening his expertise in quantitative analysis, development theory, and food and nutrition policy, in addition to supporting the Humphrey Fellowship Program as a Graduate Assistant.
Before joining Cornell, ’Benga worked with the Food Prices for Nutrition project at Tufts University, where he supported countries in monitoring the Cost and Affordability of a Healthy Diet metric, a globally recognized indicator of food access. He also served as a Nutrition Policy Analyst at the Nigeria Governors’ Forum Secretariat, contributing to evidence-based strategies that strengthened food and nutrition security across the country.
Growing up in Lagos, Nigeria, ’Benga developed a deep awareness of the complexity of development and the central role that equitable access to healthy diets plays in fostering health, productivity, and resilience. His academic and professional experiences reflect a mission-driven commitment to advancing policies and programs that promote sustainable, inclusive food systems. At Cornell, he continues to build the skills and networks necessary to deliver rigorous policy and program analysis for governments, nonprofits, and development partners worldwide.
