CIFS-IPP Member Spotlight

Each month, we recognize a member of CIFS-IPP (the Institute's flagship corporate affiliate program) that is making a lasting impact in the food industry. This month, we’re proud to feature Wan Ja Shan, a leading producer of premium naturally-brewed soy sauce and other Asian sauces.

Wan Ja Shan Brewery Co.
Wan Ja Shan Brewery Co. is a family business of three generations and has become one of the leading manufacturers of naturally brewed soy sauce in Taiwan and the United States. The company has been perfecting soy sauce since 1945 using a 4-6 month natural fermentation process as the foundation to creating a selective line of delectable Asian sauces. Their sauces give the full meaning to the name, “Wan Ja Shan”, which translates to “Aroma to 10,000 Households”.

Crafted to complement a wide range of cuisines and enhance any type of dish, Wan Ja Shan’s savory condiments are ideal for barbecue, stir-fry, salad dressings, dips, and marinades and reflect a commitment to creating and upgrading the essence of traditional Asian sauces by introducing newer and healthier products for the increasingly sophisticated consumers, restaurants and food manufacturers in over 40 countries worldwide. To meet growing demands for clean label natural foods, Wan Ja Shan focuses on premium natural ingredients to ferment non-GMO, organic, and gluten-free soy sauce with no artificial additives. Other sauces include soy sauce, less sodium soy sauce, rice vinegar, oyster sauce, ponzu sauce, mirin, bonito sauce, Asian barbecue sauce, and chili sauce (with many in certified organic, non-GMO and vegetarian versions as well).

More recently, the company has leveraged its 80 years of fermentation expertise and ventured into spirits making and aging to produce Japanese shochu, plum liqueur and aged whiskey.
