A welcoming environment for our students
The American Indian and Indigenous Studies Program (AIISP) believes having a space dedicated to our students is vitally important. Our headquarters in Caldwell Hall serves as a safe and welcoming environment for students to use any time during the year. This fourth-floor space also houses academic and student service offices, an undergraduate study lounge with computer lab, a graduate room, printing room, community kitchen, conference room, and library.
Resources & Amenities
Undergraduate Study Lounge & Computer Lab
AIISP students have access to the study lounge and computer lab during regular office hours (8:30 am- 4:30pm on weekdays), and can enter the space after hours and on weekends with an additional code. This lounge is equipped with a large round table, dry erase board, comfortable chairs, couch, magazine library, and four computer work stations that are connected to printers in the adjacent room.
Graduate Rooms
AIISP-affiliated Graduate Students have 24-hour access to office space where they have assigned desks, as well as computers to work from.
Kitchen
AIISP students, faculty, and staff have access to a kitchen equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, toaster, Keurig coffee maker, and water dispenser. Throughout the semester, it is stocked with snacks and drinks for students to enjoy between classes, meetings, or meals.
Copy Machine & Printing Services
AIISP-affiliated students and faculty have access to a copier where they can copy, scan, and print out work and class-related materials. This service is free of charge as long as the privilege is not abused.
Conference Room & Library
AIISP has a conference room where many events take place, including seminar classes, conferences, and presentations. This room also serves as the AIISP library, which is a comprehensive collection of books available to AIISP students for borrowing. Extended due dates are possible depending on the title's popularity and a student's needs.
