AIISP is seeking a Student Support Specialist to join our staff! The Student Support Specialist reports to the AIISP Associate Director with a dotted line to the CALS Office of Academic Programs to provide: information and referral to students; planning and coordination of student programs for retention and enrichment; student recruitment; and program administration for Native American / Indigenous students at all levels (undergraduate, graduate, and professional).
Preference given to qualified Native candidates with experience in student support services and retention efforts in higher education.
AIIS faculty's expertise spans multiple fields from anthropology to art to natural resources. Faculty expertise clusters in Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) studies, and in a variety of other historical and contemporary Indigenous issues across the globe.
The American Indian and Indigenous Studies Program staff, with offices located on the fourth floor of Caldwell Hall, facilitate community with an array of programs and events, provide support, and aid in the academic success of our students.
Our alumni network is an ever-expanding community of scholars and professionals in a plethora of fields. While our alumni are located all across the world, they are continually connected through their shared Cornell experience.
