Sarah Buffett (Métis/Michif) is from a small town near the border of Treaty 4 and Treaty 6 territory in Saskatchewan, Canada. As a Métis (Michif) scholar, she embraces the intersection of her Indigenous heritage and her Canadian roots, shaping her perspectives on community and culture.
Sarah's research work is grounded in fostering cultural understanding and revitalization through interdisciplinary approaches. Her recent focus areas include community engagement, food systems and language revitalization, organizational capacity building, and cultural fluency education.
Previously, Sarah served as a Research Specialist in the Cornell Graduate School on local contemporary Indigenous priorities and is currently the Akwe:kon House Fellow and NAISAC Co-advisor with the American Indian and Indigenous Studies Program (AIISP).
