Ojok Okello is a visionary rural futurist, community organizer, and artist. As the founder and CEO of Okere City, his mission is to implement a radical development plan that aims to build the first sustainable rural city in Uganda. Ojok envisions a sustainable and thriving rural community empowered through art, education, and improved livelihoods.
Throughout his two-decade career, Ojok has collaborated with both international and national development organizations and has served in Uganda's public service. His diverse skill set as a social entrepreneur, community organizer/builder, and development manager has been instrumental in his impactful contributions.
Before establishing Okere City, Ojok held significant roles such as a senior secretary at Makerere University, a governance expert with the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, and a project coordinator at War Child UK.
Ojok's dedication and achievements have earned him prestigious accolades, including being recognized as an Ashoka Visionary Fellow, a YALI Fellow, and a PfAL Fellow at the London School of Economics, where he completed a Master of Science in Development Management degree.
