Emily Lutz is a Water Resource Technician for the Hudson River Estuary program (HREP). Emily will be assisting HREP with monitoring efforts to improve the understanding on water resources within the Hudson River Estuary Watershed. This includes working with a multi-disciplinary team that manages water quality in tributaries to the Hudson River, assesses stream barriers and their effect on aquatic organisms, as well as manages stream-side tree plantings through the Trees for Tribs program. Emily graduated from SUNY Cobleskill with a bachelor’s in Environmental Management and an associate’s in Fisheries and Wildlife Technology. Emily’s previous experiences include working with NYSDEC Region 3 Inland Fisheries Unit in 2024 on their NYS Trout Management Plan, as well as working as an Environmental Educator through the Ashokan Watershed Stream Management Program (AWSMP).
