Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) and Cornell Food Science

Current Food Science DEI Initiatives

  • Provide updates on activities through twice-yearly departmental town halls (Cornell community members may access past Town Hall slides, https://cornell.box.com/s/g9g7kxhdeiqa55l3tehjdbvualtl8vux)
  • Develop a three-year Strategic Plan with input from the departmental faculty, students, and staff
  • Increase applications and matriculation of underrepresented minority students for Summer Scholars and graduate programs through partnerships with minority serving institutions
  • Expand outreach programs (e.g. K-12 events) outside of Ithaca through the newly formed Community Outreach Committee.
