Dr. Warangkana Srichamnong is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Nutrition, Mahidol University in Thailand, where she leads research in food and nutritional sciences, focusing on functional foods, bioactive compounds, and sustainable food systems. Originally from northeastern Thailand, she brings deep local knowledge to her work, particularly in advancing agricultural innovation and community-based nutrition across Southeast Asia.

Trained in food chemistry and nutritional biochemistry, Dr. Srichamnong has focused her career on the intersection of science, culture, and health. She addresses the long-term health impacts of malnutrition and diet-related non-communicable diseases while strengthening capacity and livelihoods in rural communities. Guided by the belief that science should serve people—especially the most vulnerable—her work emphasizes resilient and equitable food systems as essential to public health.

In response to climate change and food insecurity, she develops sustainable, culturally appropriate nutrition solutions. Dr. Srichamnong earned her Ph.D. in Food Science and Nutrition from the University of New South Wales, Australia, and continues to advance food and nutrition science throughout Thailand and Southeast Asia.
