About
Fabian is originally from Colombia. He completed his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2021 from the University of Tolima, Colombia. During his degree, he was actively involved in ruminant nutrition research and extension. Also, he worked as a research intern at the University of Georgia evaluating feed additives in dairy cows. After graduation, he joined McFadden Lab as a graduate student in the Fall of 2021. In the fall of 2022 he joined the Food Systems & Global Change Team as a research assistant.
His current research focuses on understanding and improving fatty acid digestibility as a strategy to improve feed efficiency and reduce the environmental impact of dairy farms. Also, he is working in the development of a global dataset for fodder crop production. He is passionate about the development and implementation of technologies to improve livestock systems' sustainability and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
