Undergraduate Students
Alexis joined the lab in June 2023. Through supporting MQIP graduate students, she acquires fundamental food microbiology, dairy science, and lab-based technical knowledge. Alexis is passionate about the intersection of agriculture and food safety within the New York State dairy conglomerate.
Abby joined the lab in October 2022. She assists various lab members on research projects. Abby is expanding her interests in food safety and quality control while learning good laboratory skills.
Lucas joined the lab in May 2024. He assists lab members with MQIP research projects. Lucas is expanding his interests in food microbiology by learning new laboratory techniques and exploring dairy safety.
Rachel joined the lab in June 2025 as a summer intern. She is contributing to Tamara Walsky’s research on using agent-based models to predict risk-based setback distances for flooded agricultural fields. With a strong passion for food science and food safety, Rachel is excited to apply her interests to real-world challenges and expand her knowledge through her work this summer.
Kate joined the lab in summer 2025. Her research project is about gas-producing bacteria that cause cheese blowing defects.
Carter joined the lab in fall 2025.
