Responding to environmental changes with education and action
The Department of Natural Resources and the Environment's water and climate programs focus on providing both education and adaptive resource management for regional and global audiences ready to combat the threat of climate change. This program area highlights the groups within DNRE's extension that are deeply invested in assessing the impacts and potential solutions of climate change and water insecurity.

Expanding the understanding of academicians, students, natural resources agency staff, non-governmental organizations and policy makers about the social dimensions of natural resource and environmental management and policy.

Integrating research and public engagement to support stewardship, learning, and resilience in communities facing social and environmental stresses globally.

Part of a joint initiative with NYS Department of Environmental Conservation's (DEC) Hudson River Estuary Program to conserve important ecosystems in the estuary watershed.

Dr. Rebecca Schneider’s program focuses on the sustainable, ecologically-based management of the world’s water resources.
