Tell us a fun fact about you.

I was a gymnast as a child and I can still do a back handspring!

What impact do you want to make on the world?

I want to work on rural development projects that increase people's health and well-being, while also helping them improve their access to resources and educational opportunities.

What were you doing before the MPS program?

I have been working at the Rochester Area Community Foundation for the past three years.

What does global development mean to you?

I think global development means improving and enhancing the lives of people all over the world, as well as the environments they inhabit, through smart and sustainable development programs and projects.

What has been the most memorable or impactful experience of your career so far?

Working on understanding and alleviating food insecurity in Yates County, NY by funding and expanding food pantries in the county through a collaborative effort of the Yates Community Endowment, ProAction fo Steuben and Yates County, Foodlink (member of Feeding America), and Wegmans.

How do you envision your MPS degree contributing to your career?

I envision I will learn a great deal from the faculty at Cornell, as well as my fellow students, about global development. I'm really looking forward to discovering global development projects that have been successful in alleviating poverty in other countries, that can be used in rural communities in Western NY.
