Undergraduate Research

Undergraduate research can be a valuable way for students to apply the concepts and knowledge that they have gained in courses to contemporary environmental engineering problems. Any students considering graduate study are strongly encouraged to pursue undergraduate research. Students interested in research are encouraged to review the research pages of professors in CEE or BEE and contact professors with an expression of their research motivation and interests.  The most common years to begin performing research are during the sophomore or junior year.  Students may perform research on a voluntary basis, for course credit, or for a wage. If performing research for credit, students from CoE should enroll in CEE 4090 and students from CALS should enroll in BEE 4990.  Students may work with a faculty advisor to secure funding for their research activities through Engineering Learning Initiatives.
