Office of Finance and Administration

The Office of Finance and Administration provides leadership in the administration and funding of college financial and administrative matters. It provides overall leadership and training in the implementation of new financial systems and policies. The office has oversight for the College’s Office of Budget & Finance, CALS Office of Capital Projects & Facilities Services, CALS Office of Human Resources, CALS Office of Information Technology and the leadership of the CALS departmental administrative teams. The office has shared oversight of the CALS/CHE Business Service Center with the Department of Financial Affairs and the College of Human Ecology. The office also serves as the key administrative contact with university administrative offices.

  • CALS Office of Budget and Finance performs a wide variety of accounting, budget, audit and cash control functions associated with College funding and handles budget line management and financial reporting.
  • CALS Office of Capital Projects & Facilities Services oversees/coordinates land use management, facility management, renovation, and construction for CALS facilities, including strategic planning, building operations, space planning, facilities inventory, budget development, resource projections, and project scheduling.
  • CALS Office of Human Resources assists units, faculty, staff, and students of the College with position posting, the appointment process, payroll, performance dialogues, professional development, and various other personnel issues.
  • CALS Office of Information Technology is composed of two major focus areas. Systems and Operations assists faculty and staff across five service zones with computer purchase, set-up, and troubleshooting. Administrative Computing develops information technology solutions and services through decision support systems and sophisticated financial and administrative information reporting systems.
  • CALS/CHE Business Service Center oversees financial operations of the College including: procurement card/e-SHOP transactions, accounts payable, travel reimbursements, journal processing, and cash management.

This office will also provide the leadership for improving the effectiveness and efficiency of departmental business services.
