Julie Berry is a published researcher and science-trained journalist with a passion for connecting people with science. She develops and implements communication strategies to increase outreach of PRO-DAIRY research, education and programs. She writes for and edits The Manager insert published in Progressive Dairy magazine, promotes educational programs through print, online news and social media, publishes an e-newsletter, designs brand materials, manages the PRO-DAIRY website, and writes and publishes annual report. She also serves on the Cornell Cooperative Extension Organizational Sustainability core leadership committee.
Prior to joining PRO-DAIRY in 2011, she led the New York Animal Agriculture Coalition, was a dairy educator for Cornell Cooperative Extension, worked as a daily news journalist, and as marketing director of a zoo. She has worked as a national park ranger and is a certified yoga teacher. She also partnered with CALS Office of Marketing & Communications, including writing content for the Cornell Initiative for Digital Agriculture website, and has served on the CALS Alumni Association Board of Directors.
