Six Cornell CALS senior undergraduate students received Richard Popp Scholarship Fund awards, presented at the 2026 Northeast Dairy Management Conference by Dairy Fellows Alumni Senior Lecturer Quinn Kolar.
This scholarship was established in 1997 by family, friends and colleagues in memory of Richard “Dick” Popp '61. Popp was a Western, New York, progressive dairy farmer who was active in his community and known for his integrity, grit, conviction and leadership.
“Each of these recipients embodies the blend of curiosity, leadership and purpose that defined Dick’s legacy. They ask hard questions, show up for their communities, and pursue opportunities that push them—and our field—forward," Kolar said. "It has been a privilege to watch them grow as students, leaders, and future professionals.”
Scholarship recipients were selected for their impressive academic leadership and as bright examples for the next generation in agriculture. Each of these students is majoring in animal science, with a concentration in dairy management.
