Prospective BMCB and GGD Students
A partnership between the BMCB and GGD Fields provides students with the opportunity to pursue a PhD in one of three areas:
- Biochemistry PhD
- Molecular Cell Biology PhD
- Genetics PhD
BMCB students can pursue a PhD in Biochemistry or Molecular Cell Biology. BMCB students have the opportunity to focus their coursework and research in the areas of Biochemistry & Structural Biology, Molecular & Cell Biology, or Cell & Developmental Biology. GGD students working towards the Genetics PhD can focus in the areas of Molecular Genetics, Computational Genomics, Developmental Biology, and Population Genetics & Molecular Evolution.
At the time of application, prospective students to BMCB or GGD should select the degree program that is best aligned with their current research interests, with the knowledge that movement between degree programs can be facilitated at the end of the first year if their research interests evolve.
Prospective Biophysics Students
Students with a strong interest in biophysical processes can pursue a Biophysics PhD through the Biophysics program. The Biophysics program aims to provide students with a quantitative and mechanistic understanding of the fundamental physical and biological principles that govern all forms of life.
