Facilitating opportunities for graduate research at the intersection of development and education

The Cornell Glock Fellowship provides financial support for doctoral student research focused on education within the broader field of development. Education has long been a central part of development. It can be viewed formally within public or state-run educational institutions, informally through community, family and/or religious organizations and social movements. Many policy questions relate and can contribute to or inhibit educational opportunity. Such policies can be found across a multitude of sectors, such as education, healthcare, social services, and environmental, economic and/or community development.

Eligibility

Students must be enrolled in the Graduate Field of Development Studies.

Funded research can be related to your own doctoral work, or you can propose to collaborate with a professor who conducts education-related research/outreach to which you would be interested in contributing.

Funding

The selected student will receive a full or partial summer stipend. Funding must be used for the summer stipend or approved in absentia expenses.

How to apply

To be considered for this funding, please submit a 300-400 word statement to the GFA and Professor John Sipple about your interest in the award.

The application cycle will open January 1-March 1, and the award recipient will be notified by March 15.
