What has been an academic highlight for you outside your major?

One academic highlight for me outside of my major was taking an American Sign Language class. I originally enrolled because I have a passion for languages, and I thought ASL would be a unique addition to the languages I know. This class became more meaningful than expected. I enjoyed learning about Deaf culture, and the language itself. I’m very grateful for this experience, and am looking forward to pursuing this newfound passion. 

What is something you have been involved with outside academics that is meaningful to you? 

Something I have been involved with is writing for the Daily Sun in the science and technology section. I really enjoy writing for the Sun because I am able to learn about scientific events and discoveries happening in the Cornell community and articulate this in a way that is understandable to readers. I have written several scientific articles and have learned so much about the amazing work the Cornell community has accomplished within the field of science. 

What are your go-to campus resources?

My go-to campus resource is CALS Student Services. Student Services has been able to provide help in many different situations. I have gone to them to look for internships, class scheduling and pre-law services. They have great hours and are very available. The advisors are very professional and helpful. 

What are your post-graduation goals?

My post graduation goal is to attend law school and become an Air Force Judge Advocate General. I want to specialize in Military Justice within law school so that I can develop the legal knowledge, and leadership skills necessary to serve and support members of the armed forces with integrity and professionalism.
