MyCALSMoment

My CALS Moment was the CALS petting zoo. There were a lot of animals that happily greeted everyone that petted them, along with cotton candy, which is always good. Overall, the petting zoo was just a nice experience, especially taking a break from my coursework.

What has been an academic highlight for you within your major?

Within my major, an academic highlight has been the class BSOC 2468 - Medicine, Culture, and Society. I learned about how medicine and infrastructures in different cultures shape how health outcomes are achieved in those societies, which has been very insightful.

What is something you have been involved with outside of academics that is meaningful to you?

A project I am currently involved with is Cornell Law School's Veterans Law Practicum. As an undergraduate volunteer, I listen to local veterans in need of pro-bono assistance and take notes on their cases. This project is personal to me, beyond its importance, as both of my grandfathers were veterans.

What hands-on experience have you had that you believe will help you in your post-graduation pursuits?

I interned at a brand management firm, interning in their legal department, where I learned more about trademark law and corporate law. This experience, closely aligned with my career goals, will hopefully help me in post-graduate pursuits.
