MyCALSMoment

My CALS Moment was visiting the Cornell dairy cows and Dairy Bar with GDEV 1300: Just Food! It was so fun to follow the journey of the delicious milk, cheese, and ice cream produced and processed by CALS students and faculty right here on campus.

What has been an academic highlight for you within your major?

My favorite class in my major has been GDEV 1300: Just Food. It combines an array of engaging hands-on activities to dive into the complex origins and processes of our food system. And while you’re at it, you get to explore every corner of our beautiful campus (and beyond)!

What is something you have been involved with outside of academics that is meaningful to you?

I have really enjoyed attending meetings of the Undergraduate Horticultural Forum. These active, hands-on meetings give you a chance to work with plants in the greenhouse. I love to use these times as a chance to unwind, take my mind off academics, and learn about plants along the way.

How have you found your closest friends at Cornell?

I met some of my closest friends in my dorm! A simple knock on my hallmates’ doors during Orientation Week led to some of my best friendships here. Whether I want to plan a sunset on Libe Slope or just a quick dinner, it’s wonderful to have friends close by.
