On my way to my first class ever at Cornell, I encountered some farm animals! The Animal Science department was holding a petting zoo in the middle of the Ag Quad. Of course, it being my first day, I had no idea that was the case. Nevertheless, when I saw a bunch of college students get excited about holding bunnies, I knew I belonged.

What has been an academic highlight for you outside of your major?

Last semester, I was struggling in my Intro to Italian class. The available office hours never aligned with my schedule, so I went to the Italian Club instead. Not only was I able to converse with various Italian students and professors, but we also made fresh pasta and marinara sauce. Molto bene!

What is something you have been involved with outside of academics that is meaningful to you?

One of the clubs I am most heavily involved in is the Society for Natural Resource Conservation (SNRC). Within SNRC, I am the Public Relations Coordinator and Social Chair. This club allows me to advocate for climate justice, teach sustainable habits, and promote greener communities.

How have you found your closest friends at Cornell?

My friends come from all corners at Cornell! My closest friends, however, were made through Outdoor Odyssey. I did not go on this excursion, but I was pulled into the groups that were formed by the trip. I would highly recommend people go on this camping trip if they are interested in nature, hiking, and making bonds before arriving at college!
