MyCALSMoment

I'll never forget going to CALS Fest after my first few weeks as a first-year student. It was a wonderful way to meet people and provided the new sense that CALS was the special community I now know it to be.

What has been an academic highlight for you within your major?

Introductory Statistics for Biology with Dr. Melissa Smith! Professor Smith did an excellent job teaching a course that provided us with a solid foundation in regression modeling and R, among other subjects. I will always remember the delicious pumpkin muffins she made for the entire class.

What is something you have been involved with outside of academics that is meaningful to you?

I have been a part of Cayuga Capital, a student-run hedge fund, since my first semester on campus. Through it, I have been able to make a number of very close friends while learning a great deal about research, valuation, and investing.

What are your post-graduation goals?

I intend on pursuing a career in investment banking, potentially within a healthcare advisory role.
