Support and Resources

Within CALS you’ll receive support from two primary sources, the Office of Student Services and your major.

CALS Student Services is your one-stop place for academic and personal resources. Located at 140 Roberts Hall, CALS Student Services can help you enroll in courses, develop your career strategy, plan an international experience, and provide academic resources. When classes are in session, CALS Student Services offers weekly drop-in hours. You can also schedule an appointment online or by calling (607.255.2257).

Your major will offer you specific guidance about your academic program. You’ll have a faculty advisor assigned to you before classes start and throughout your time here and they’ll ensure you are on track to complete the course requirements within your major. There is also an advising coordinator whose focus is student support. They are an important resource for a broad range of questions.

More Resources

Academic support resources can be accessed through academic advising in Student Services or your major. Tutoring and study skills are just two of the resources offered by the Learning Strategies Center, a place devoted to meeting the diverse needs of Cornell’s undergraduate students.

Health and well-being resources help you reach your peak student performance. When you need someone to talk to there are many resources available at Cornell. CALS Student Services will help or refer you to other important campus resources. Whether you are struggling with academic stress, homesickness, relationship issues, or mental health concerns, much help is available to support you. Cornell Health is your first resource for health concerns or issues. CALS Student Services can provide academic guidance and with your permission, contact your instructors for additional support if appropriate.

Getting involved is a great way to start forming your community at CALS and Cornell. Attend ClubFest and other events at the start of the fall or spring semesters to explore options.
