March brought positive movement in milk prices across Federal Milk Marketing Order 1. The Statistical Uniform Price (SUP) rose to $18.47 per cwt (excluding PPD), and with a $2.66 PPD in Suffolk County, MA, the total reached $21.13.
Component prices also increased, with butterfat at $2.02 and protein at $2.09.
On the demand side, fluid milk utilization increased across all classes compared to the previous month. Products like yogurt, cottage cheese, and ice cream also saw year-over-year growth in March—signaling steady consumer demand across key dairy categories.
