CALS Rethink Project Leads and Contributors,

I wanted to give you all another update on the Website Rethink Project.

Primacy came to campus in March and shared new page designs for the CALS homepage and top-level pages of most departments/academic units and our other main programs. We had a good turnout at each session that included faculty, students and staff, giving Primacy some great feedback.

User Testing in April

Primacy will return the week of April 22 to complete some user testing with members of the CALS community. If you have any interest in participating, let me know. I'll be sending out requests to participate throughout the next week.

Web Accessibility

In April, we will be compiling data to deliver to you to help you understand the web accessibility challenges on sites that are part of Cornell's remediation project. We plan to start addressing all content issues over the summer with your help.

Once we deliver these reports to you, I'll be setting up a series of webinars in May for everyone to ask any questions they have about the process.

Additionally, the Web Accessibility team in Cornell IT has scheduled continued training opportunities in CULearn. I recommend/request that everyone sign up for the free training if possible. Web content accessibility is a high priority for the university, and we want contributors to have every opportunity to better understand the work involved.

Cornell IT Training

If you haven't already, everyone who edits or updates information on a website, in Drupal or not, should take this one. It's free.

  • Web Accessibility for Content Contributors

I recommend everyone who edits or updates information on a website try to make time for these two events. They're also free.

  • Web Accessibility Testing Workshop
  • Cornell Web Accessibility Camp 2019

The following workshops are being offered over the next few months for a fee. If you're interested in attending any, please reach out and let me know.

  • Acrobat Pro Custom: Modifying, Reviewing and Converting PDF Files
  • Acrobat Pro DC Creating and Managing Forms
