Dear CALS students, faculty and staff,

As you all prepare for the end of the semester, an important new project will launch later this month – our community will be working together to reimagine a new website for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.

Led by our Office of Marketing and Communications and CALS Office of Information Technology, the CALS Website Rethink Project will help us to build a more advanced web infrastructure designed to increase recruitment of high-quality academic talent as well as increase awareness of our people, our impact and our expertise. Further, we are aiming to align our websites with Cornell’s commitment to meet web accessibility standards by the end of 2019.

Partnering with the award-winning website development firm Primacy, we will work over the next 12-15 months to discover, design and develop an improved interconnected web presence that will meet these goals.

To inform our process, our CALS Marketing and Communications team will collaborate with individuals and groups from the CALS community throughout all phases of the project. They are committed to sharing regular updates via email and online through our project microsite. The team will be working with all CALS website owners to add their content once the new web presence is finished.

It is important to us that our new website be co-created with the input and involvement of our community, which is why Primacy will be spending time on our campus speaking with various stakeholders throughout the project, beginning later this month.

Sincerely,

Kathryn J. Boor, Ph.D.
