Welcome to the 2024 MBG REU Program!

We look forward to welcoming you to Ithaca and Cornell! Please read this site carefully, as we include all of the information that you’ll need to know.

Arrival/Departure:

• Check in is June 2, 2024 as early as 2:00 PM, as late as 8:00 PM
  • If you need an earlier check in, or will be arriving after 8:00 PM, please email mbgreu [at] cornell.edu (mbgreu[at]cornell[dot]edu)
• Check out is August 10, 2024 NO LATER than 10:00 AM
  • If you need a later check in, please email mbgreu [at] cornell.edu (mbgreu[at]cornell[dot]edu)
• Check in will include key pick up
• At the time of your check in you will need:
  • a valid email address (your Cornell account, not personal)
  • Cornell Net ID
  • Cornell ID#
• When you check into your residential hall, PLEASE copy down the RA's phone number!!!

Checklist

1. Book Travel: If you are flying we encourage you to fly into the ITH (Ithaca airport) not SYR (Syracuse Airport). 
2. Travel Forms Policy: Read and fill out and send to mbgreu [at] cornell.edu (mbgreu[at]cornell[dot]edu) as soon as possible as it will outline your travel information booked in Item 1. 
3. Emergency and Media Form: Fill out and return to mbgreu [at] cornell.edu (mbgreu[at]cornell[dot]edu) as soon as possible. 
4. Housing Terms and Conditions: Please read and fill out and return to mbgreu [at] cornell.edu (mbgreu[at]cornell[dot]edu) as soon as possible. 
5. Program Information Packet:  Please read this document fully as it contains a lot of very important information. 
6. What NOT to bring or ship: Please read this document and follow it’s instructions. 
7. Covid-19: Familiarize yourself with this document
8. Brief Summery of the MBG REU Summer Program: Familiarize yourself with this document. 
9. Health Insurance: Cornell requires students to have health insurance that meets the university's requirements or enroll in Cornell's Student Health Plan (SHP).

MARCH 15TH: You will be given instructions on how to register with the SCE (School of Continuing Education) at Cornell. YOU MUST complete this ASAP. 

1. Submit your photo ID
2. Make sure you have your NetID- ALL communication will be coming through this Cornell email address. You will get this after you complete your registration for the SCE (School of Continuing Education.)
3. Join our Slack Channel
4. Read “Welcome to Cornell University: Summer Housing.” – The Summer Housing Booklet 
5. Enroll in Direct Deposit
6. We highly recommend not bringing vehicles to campus as parking is limited and costly but should you choose this option please make sure you obtain a Parking Permit prior to arriving on campus. 
   1. Email completed form to transportation [at] cornell.edu (transportation[at]cornell[dot]edu) and mbgreu [at] cornell.edu (mbgreu[at]cornell[dot]edu)
   2. Please note: YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE for the parking fee, this will NOT be covered by the department
7. Complete the Financial Responsibility Agreement
8. Complete Summer Term Checklist (Link below).
