Support environmental data and information needs

The objective of the GIS Program is to support the environmental data and information needs of the public and private sectors of New York State. Our primary support initiative is the management and maintenance of the SUNY/ESRI site license at the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS). This site license provides access to ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online and other ESRI software at substantially reduced cost for CALS and Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE). As part of this initiative, we provide operational support for all ArcGIS users.

Downloading ArcGIS Software

You will need to submit a license request form (see link below). Once your request is received, you will be sent an invitation for access to our BOX folder with installation files at which time you can sign in with your Cornell netID and password to download the files. Authorization codes will be sent via email.

NOTE: IRIS offers licensing only to the CALS community. If you are outside of CALS, please make ArcGIS software requests to fmp8 [at] (subject: ArcGIS%20software%20request) (Frank Popowitch).

ArcGIS updates are included with your annual license fee so please update your software when you wish using the link below. In most cases, your current license codes will support a newer version. **Note: The current ArcGIS version installed on the Mann Library computers is: ArcGIS 10.7.1

As part of our site license, ESRI Training videos, webinar and classes are available. Check out the links below for more detailed information. Note: many web-based classes are available at no cost and instructor-led classes at substantial discount, under the Cornell site license. Contact iris [at] (subject: ESRI%20Classes)
