MyCALSMoment

MyCALSMoment was during a lab in my Dairy Cattle Principles class in which I got to hold a 90 day old cow fetus while also learning about AI. I fell in love with the way CALS allowed me the resources to have this opportunity and so many more like it.

What has been an academic highlight for you outside of your major?

My campus job, as an assistant manager for Graduate Students Mentoring Undergraduates (GSMU) in the Office of Academic Diversity Initiatives (OADI), helped me realize that I wanted to major in business as I enjoyed coordinating events and working in an office while networking and expanding my horizons all at the same time.

What hands-on experience have you had that you believe will help you in your post-graduation pursuits?

I shadow for a vet clinic in Ithaca where I get exposed to all types of cases concerning small domesticated animals and exotics. It is so exciting to be in an environment where it can be so fast-paced at times but at other times I get to reflect and learn.

What are your go-to campus resources?

I have two go-to people, it just depends where on campus I am. If I am near central campus I go to, Gabrielle Smith, my boss, advisor, and assistant director of OADI. If I am near Morrison, Lindsay Glasner, an ANSC undergrad. program coordinator and my support system in CALS.
