Discover CALS

See how our current work and research is bringing new thinking and new solutions to some of today's biggest challenges.

Chatter, Canvas and Email

Cornell email and NetID

Now that you are a student, all university and CALS communication will be addressed to your Cornell email address. Be sure you know your NetID (the first part of your email, i.e. netID AT cornell.edu) and how to log in. Do check that account regularly to be sure you aren’t missing any messages. Guidance on how to activate your NetID and email.

Chatter

Chatter is our online community that provides critical information about course enrollment, your major, and connecting with your advisor. It will also be a great way to meet other new CALS students! You will be required to log in to Chatter, but that is an easy step, and the instructions will be included in a message from us to your Cornell email.

There will be many questions that come up, and we’ll use Chatter to answer questions geared towards the entire community. That’s our go to place in posting FAQs, pre-health questions/tips, and course enrollment questions. The great thing about Chatter is that you’ll get reliable information not only from CALS Student Services, but from current students.

CALS GO! (Get Oriented) on Canvas

Canvas will be available to new students in mid-June and CALS GO! (Get Oriented) is the online home for all things related to CALS’ orientation. And during the semester, Canvas is your course platform tool used by most professors. In CALS GO! you will find resources, events and heaps of information to get you ready for course enrollment and more generally to join CALS this fall.
