Distance Learning Advisor. Paul has been active in a broad array of work over his nearly 20-year career at CCE. From witnessing the final days of the CCE satellite network to current efforts to support and grow the systems capacity for remote work, Paul’s focus has been on the skillful adoption of technologies to further the CCE mission. His current focus is on digital inclusion and increasing the accessibility of digital resources to the broadest possible audience across New York State. In addition, Paul co-host, edits and produces the ‘Extension Out Loud’ podcast for Cornell Cooperative Extension.
In the early days of Cornell University’s College of Human Ecology, Extension educators traveled around the state in demonstration trains to engage directly with families, especially farm wives, in their homes. Today, Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) Associate Director Kimberly Kopko is reimagining ways to meet families where they are with more portable parenting models that bring learning opportunities to spaces where families already get together, including schools, community and health centers, and, when necessary, online.
Historian and professor Scott Peters has dedicated over two decades to examining the dynamic relationships that scientists, scholars, and extension educators at land-grant universities have with the communities they serve.
